S+ Lane Keeping Aid is an active safety function, assisting the driver to avoid unintended lane departures. In situations where the driver is drowsy or distracted, the risk of lane departure increases. When distracted by e.g., the control panel and surrounding environment, the driver may not have the time to react and avoid lane departure if the vehicle drift away from its intended course. By monitoring the road ahead, S+ Lane Keeping Aid supports the driver to follow the road path. S+ Lane Keeping Aid is adapted to NHTSA level 1 and is available in two performance levels.

Lane Keeping Aid Mk I

S+ Lane Keeping Aid applies a torque to the steering wheel, when the vehicle is too close to the lane boundaries. In S+ Lane Keeping Aid Mk I the torque guides the driver back toward the centre of the lane.

Lane Keeping Aid Mk II

When the vehicle is too close to the lane boundaries, S+ Lane Keeping Aid Mk II applies a torque to the steering wheel, which guides the driver back to the correct heading in the centre of the lane and guides the driver to follow the lane curvature by avoiding getting to close to the lane boundaries.
